Myofascial Release

What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release is gentle, sustained pressure on muscle and connective tissue,

resulting in softening and releasing of acute and/or chronic fascial restrictions. It is

a very individualized treatment, which follows the unique fascial restrictions of your

body, resulting in long term, whole body benefits.

By addressing the fascial restrictions that are often compounded in pregnancy, we create more balance, ease aches and pains and "make more space" for Baby. We make pregnancy more comfortable and give Baby the opportunity to get in the best possible position for birth.

When Should I Get Treated?

1.  Any time you have on-going pain.

2. Prenatally, we recommend an assessment around 32-34 weeks.

3. If you know your baby is breech, transverse or op and you're trying to make more space and balance maternally to encourage your baby to move into a different position. (Note: We do not move or directly treat the baby; myofascial support may be part of a broader treatment plan and/or a precursor to an external cephalic version.)

4. At 38-39 weeks if your baby is not engaged.

5. Postpartum recovery for Mother and Baby.

"I started seeing Wendy in my 3rd trimester when I was experiencing a lot of pain around my hips, sacrum, and lower back area. I saw a chiropractor a few times and had prenatal massage without any improvement, and was really hoping to find some sort of healing modality to help with the pain and help get my body in as healthy and balanced a place as possible for the birth of my baby. I was amazed at how much better I felt after just one session with Wendy! She is a true healer and my body responded very well to her touch. I continued to see Wendy for the remainder of my pregnancy and I felt stronger, more balanced, and more prepared for birth after each session. I was also able to play with my very active 2-year old without pain again - hooray! My labor and delivery were very fast and easy, and I felt strong very soon after the birth. I think a good part of that had to do with how ready my body was, thanks to Wendy. I highly recommend Wendy for myofascial release - her touch is very light and relaxing, but the results are huge. Wendy is a gifted healer, she truly cares about the well-being of her clients and she is a joy to be around." - Katie M.

"I really didn't know what MFT was or what a session would be like, but let me tell you it is absolute magic.
Wendy has a special gift for knowing what you need. She is a wonderful, calm healer and she "coaches" me through each session, emotionally and physically. I feel like a million bucks every time I walk out of her studio." - Alicia
